The federal riding of Edmonton-Strathcona is in a large urban area of
the city of Edmonton spanning its south central portion. It is bounded
on the north by the North Saskatchewan River, on the south by Whitemud
Drive, on the west by the river and Whitemud Creek, on the southeast by
Edmonton's city limits and the Sherwood Park freeway, and on the
northeast by 34th Street. The riding's neighbourhoods include
Allendale, Argyll, Avonmore, Belgravia, Bonnie Doon, Capilano,
Cloverdale, Empire Park, Forest Heights, Fulton Place, Garneau, Gold
Bar, Grandview Heights, Hazeldean, Holyrood, Idylwylde, Kenilworth, King
Edward Park, Lansdowne, Lendrum Place, Malmo Plains, McKernan, Ottewell,
Parkallen, Pleasantview, Queen Alexandra Park, Ritchie, Old Strathcona,
Strathearn, Terrace Heights, and Windsor Park.
Edmonton-Strathcona's current Member of Parliament is Linda Duncan of
the NDP. She was elected in October of 2008.
